Clue: On Stage brings all the fun of the board game without needing to twist your brain in knots trying to decipher evidence on a paper pad. But feel free to try to work out the murderer before the final act!

This is the second production in New West Theatre’s 2025-2026 season, following closely on the heels of Decades: Remixed last month.

Inspired by the Hasbro board game and the 1985 Jonathan Lynn movie starring Tim Curry, this 90-minute show has an amazing, local cast. It’s a slapstick whodunit that will have you laughing and guessing until the final reveal.

Brian Quinn perfectly plays a dim-witted Colonel Mustard with lots of punchlines. The sassy, brothel-running Miss Scarlett is played by the versatile Ash Thomson who you may have seen in Shakespeare in the Park earlier this summer, or as drag king Dick Goblin. Closeted Mr. Green, trying to pass as a straight Republican, is played by the accomplished Griffin Cork. Karen Johnson-Diamond plays Mrs. Peacock, a high-energy socialite and wife of a US Senator who has a history of accepting bribes. Greg Wilson gives a convincing portrayal of disgraced psychiatrist, Professor Plum. And the cast of six classic Clue board game characters is completed by Nicola Elson as Mrs. White with her trail of suspiciously missing ex-husbands.

This core cast is supported by Kelly Malcolm, Parker Hickerty, David Sklar, and Chris Kyle Peterson, founder of the newly formed Phoenix Arts Co. that recently put on a rave-reviewed production of Newsies. And, lastly, David Haysom whose wildly expressive portrayal of The Cop earns lots of laughs, arguably stealing the last act.

See if you can track the whereabouts of the candlestick, dagger, lead pipe, revolver, rope, and wrench as characters travel through doors swirling across the checkerboard floor, investigating the kitchen, ballroom, dining room, lounge, hall, study, library, billiard room, and conservatory.

The show runs at the Yates Memorial Theatre from September 5th to the 20th. You can get tickets on the New West Theatre website, or by calling 329-SEAT.
